LaBeouf teased over Rihanna rumours

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008

Shia LaBeouf has revealed that his friends constantly sang ‘Umbrella’ to him when he was rumoured to be dating Rihanna.

LaBeouf was spotted having dinner with the singer last August, sparking speculation that they were an item.

Despite denying reports of a romance, the Transformers star admitted that his pals took pleasure in teasing him with their renditions of her biggest hit.

He told GQ: “My friends were like, ‘Are you serious, bro? Why didn’t you tell me about that?’ I was like, ‘I really don’t know her like that.’

“For weeks they were singing that ‘Umbrella’ song everywhere I walked. And those are my people!”

LaBeouf, who plays Harrison Ford’s sidekick in the new Indiana Jones movie, recently claimed that women are his favourite vice.

Shia - “GQ” June 2008

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

Shia LaBeouf looks dapper on the June 2008 cover of GQ Magazine. Here are some interview highlights:

On working on the new Indiana Jones film: “I never worked so hard for anything in my life. I did four months of sword fighting and bike training. And I spent insane amounts of time on the switchblade.”

On the rumors that he dated Rihanna: “My friends were like, ‘Are you serious, bro? Why didn’t you tell me about that?’ I was like, ‘I really don’t know her like that.’ For weeks they were singing that ‘Umbrella’ song everywhere I walked. And those are my people!”

On being head-over-heels with all of his female costars: “I’ve been in love with every woman I’ve ever worked with (Megan Fox, Sarah Roemer and Michelle Monaghan). [But] there’s the three-month attention span that actors have. I don’t know if it’s mutual, but I really don’t care. They have to kiss me when ‘action’ gets called, anyway, so I’ll get what I want.”

New Indiana Jones Promotional Stills

Friday, May 9th, 2008

Here’s the official synopsis via Paramount: The newest Indiana Jones adventure begins in the desert Southwest in 1957 – the height of the Cold War. Indy (Harrison Ford) and his sidekick Mac (Ray Winstone) have barely escaped a close scrape with nefarious Soviet agents on a remote airfield.

Now, Professor Jones has returned home to Marshall College – only to find things have gone from bad to worse. His close friend and dean of the college (Jim Broadbent) explains that Indy’s recent activities have made him the object of suspicion, and that the government has put pressure on the university to fire him. On his way out of town, Indiana meets rebellious young Mutt (Shia LaBeouf), who carries both a grudge and a proposition for the adventurous archaeologist: If he’ll help Mutt on a mission with deeply personal stakes, Indy could very well make one of the most spectacular archaeological finds in history – the Crystal Skull of Akator, a legendary object of fascination, superstition and fear.

Here are some new promo pics from Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull out Thursday, May 22.

New ‘Indiana Jones’ Featurette

Friday, March 21st, 2008

We have been given a new featurette starring Shia LaBeouf. You can check it out over on the film’s official website, and what we basically have are a bunch of snippets of Shia in action, with voiceover from the actor. There’s Shia riding a motorcycle with Harrison Ford, there’s Shia practicing his sword fighting and there’s Shia fooling around with a switchblade.

An interesting note about that switchblade, as brought up by Shia in the featurette: They didn’t have time to bring someone on set to teach him how to use it, so he taught himself and became kinda addicted to the thing. He calls it his “Tetris” — named, of course, after the highly-addictive Nintendo game.
