LaBeouf teased over Rihanna rumours

Shia LaBeouf has revealed that his friends constantly sang ‘Umbrella’ to him when he was rumoured to be dating Rihanna.

LaBeouf was spotted having dinner with the singer last August, sparking speculation that they were an item.

Despite denying reports of a romance, the Transformers star admitted that his pals took pleasure in teasing him with their renditions of her biggest hit.

He told GQ: “My friends were like, ‘Are you serious, bro? Why didn’t you tell me about that?’ I was like, ‘I really don’t know her like that.’

“For weeks they were singing that ‘Umbrella’ song everywhere I walked. And those are my people!”

LaBeouf, who plays Harrison Ford’s sidekick in the new Indiana Jones movie, recently claimed that women are his favourite vice.

Labeouf: ‘Women Are My Favorite Vice’

Transformers star Shia Labeouf fears his downfall lies in the lure of beautiful women - because he can’t stay away from the opposite sex.

The 21-year-old doesn’t have a longterm girlfriend and is happy to enjoy the benefits of being a young, single actor in Hollywood.

And LaBeouf is convinced the best thing about being the star is the constant throng of female admirers.

He says, “I have my vices and that includes women. Not that I have time for relationships as such, but that doesn’t mean I have to live like a monk, right?”

“As vices go, women are right up there with my favorites. In fact, women are probably the best vice in the world.”

“I try to be respectful but sometimes women are looking for more commitment than I’m able or willing to give. I can’t commit myself to one woman for any length of time. But I love their company intensely.”

Starlet’s not shy-a around Shia

Shia LaBeouf evades ruthless Soviet spies and spear-hurling Indians in the forthcoming “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” - but those pursuers were puny next to the lady on his tail Saturday night.

All My Children” starlet Leven Rambin strafed LaBeouf with flirt darts from the moment she saw him at the after-party for “Saturday Night Live,” which he hosted, according to our spies.

“She was all over him,” says one source.

And how did the evening turn out? Just as she hoped it would, Rambin is said to be telling friends. But the actress, who turns 18 this Saturday, played down talk of a romance with the 21-year-old LaBeouf when we reached her Monday.

“That was just the second time I’ve met him,” said Rambin. “I think he’s really talented.”

LaBeouf says it’s just this sort of gossip that has made him wary of getting involved with anyone. He admits in the new GQ: “I’ve been in love with every woman I’ve ever worked with” - a list that includes Megan Fox, Sarah Roemer and Michelle Monaghan. But “there’s the three-month attention span that actors have. I don’t know if it’s mutual, but I really don’t care. They have to kiss me when ‘action’ gets called, anyway, so I’ll get what I want.”

LaBeouf also talks with the mag’s Kevin Conley about his delinquent bent. At 19, after a neighbor in his L.A. apartment complex insulted his mother and rear-ended her car, he got a knife and recruited a buddy to go visit the guy’s apartment, where he wound up getting jumped by the guy and his friends.

When the “Indiana Jones” script mentioned he’d be using a switchblade, LaBeouf learned how to flip one like a street tough. He once brought the knife onto the set of the “Letterman” show, joking “in case he started getting on me.”

Speaking of weapons, LaBeouf recalls the day Steven Spielberg invited him to his house to shoot skeet. “I get there and stick my head in to ask if he’s ready - and this is classic Spielberg - he says, ‘Nope, Shia. I’m trapped!’”

“You’re trapped? Steven, what are you talking about?”

“I’m trapped back here. Follow my voice.”

“Where are you?”

“Over here. … Here. … Here!”

LaBeouf kept following the calls until he got to the director’s office, where Spielberg, dressed in shooting togs, was sitting at his computer, stuck on the 15th level of a videogame called BioShock. “This is like months to get to this level, and he can’t get past this one little mysterious spider god, and he’s losing his mind. He’s like, ‘I can’t do it, Shia! I can’t do it.’”

No word on whether they ever made it to the skeet range.
